This notice explains, in plain language, what personal data Triumph Lex LLP handles through this website and when you write to, call or apply to us, why we handle it, and the rights you have under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (the “Act”) and the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025 (the “Rules”). It is meant to be read on its own.
Who we are
Triumph Lex LLP, Advocates & Consultants, is a law firm with offices in Bengaluru and Kochi. We decide why and how the personal data described here is used, which makes us the “Data Fiduciary”. You, the person the data is about, are the “Data Principal”. Where this notice says “we”, it means Triumph Lex LLP.
The personal data we handle
This site is deliberately simple. It has no accounts, forms, comment boxes, analytics or advertising trackers. The personal data we handle is limited to the following.
- When you visit this site. The technical details your browser sends with every request: your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, the pages requested and the time. These may be recorded in the server logs of the service that hosts the site. If you allow the optional typefaces from Google Fonts, your browser sends the same details to Google as well. We do not use them to identify you.
- When you email or call us. Your name, email address and telephone number, the contents of your message, and any documents you attach.
- When you apply to join us. What you send with an application for an advocate position or an internship: your name and contact details, your CV, your education and professional experience, and anything else you choose to include.
- When you make your privacy choice. A record of your choice, that you accepted the disclaimer, its date and your chosen language is kept in your browser’s own storage. It holds no personal data and is never sent to us. The Cookie Policy explains this.
We do not ask for government identity numbers, payment details, health information or other sensitive documents through this site, and ask that you do not send them in a first message. Once we have agreed to act for you, we will tell you how to share confidential material safely.
Why we use it, and on what basis
- To reply to your enquiry. You give us your details for this purpose by contacting us.
- To consider your application and to contact you about it.
- To keep this website secure and working properly.
- To respect your privacy choice, by remembering whether you allowed the optional typefaces.
- To meet our legal and professional obligations under laws such as the Advocates Act, 1961, the rules of the Bar Council of India, and the orders of courts and authorities.
We ask for your consent when you first arrive, before the site is shown, for its one optional service: typefaces from Google Fonts. It is off unless you turn it on, refusing costs you nothing but the typefaces, and you can withdraw it at any time from Menu, Privacy Settings (section 6 of the Act). For the purposes above we rely on the consent you give by contacting us or applying, and on the “legitimate use” the Act allows where you have voluntarily given us your personal data for a specified purpose and have not told us that you object (section 7(a)). Where the law requires us to keep or disclose information, we do so under sections 7(d) and 7(e).
We do not sell personal data, use it for advertising or profiling, make decisions about you by automated means, or send you newsletters or promotional messages.
Who we share it with
Only as far as is needed for the purposes above.
- Within the firm. Partners, advocates and staff who need to see it.
- Service providers who act on our instructions, such as those that host this website or provide our email and IT systems. We engage them under written contracts (section 8(2) of the Act) and they may not use your data for their own purposes.
- Courts, regulators and other authorities, where the law or an order requires it.
- Google, only if you allow it, for the typefaces. Your browser contacts Google directly and Google receives your IP address. The Cookie Policy explains this.
Our email, hosting or IT providers may store or process data on servers outside India. The Act permits this except to countries the Central Government restricts by notification (section 16), and we will follow any such restriction.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries. For as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and any matter that follows, and afterwards for as long as the law or our professional record-keeping duties require.
- Applications. If an application is unsuccessful, for up to twelve months after the process closes, unless you ask us to delete it sooner.
- Website server logs. Only as long as needed for security, and no longer than one year.
When the purpose has been served, or you withdraw your consent, we erase the personal data unless the law requires us to keep it (section 8(7) of the Act).
Your rights
As a Data Principal you have the right to:
- Know. Ask for a summary of the personal data we hold about you, the processing we carry out, and the names of others we have shared it with (section 11).
- Correct, update or erase. Ask us to correct inaccurate or misleading data, complete it, update it, or erase it (section 12).
- Withdraw consent at any time, as easily as you gave it (section 6(4)). Withdrawing does not undo what was done before. We will stop processing within a reasonable time unless the law requires us to continue (section 6(6)).
- Have your grievance heard. Raise a complaint with us and receive a response (section 13).
- Nominate another person to exercise these rights for you if you die or become unable to (section 14).
The Act also asks Data Principals to follow the law, not to impersonate anyone, not to suppress material information when providing data, not to file false or frivolous complaints, and to give only verifiably authentic information when asking for correction or erasure (section 15).
Using your rights, and complaints
Email contact@triumphlex.co with the subject “Data Principal request”, or write to our Bengaluru office. Tell us what you would like us to do. Please write from the email address or number you used when you contacted us, so that we can identify you; we may ask for reasonable proof of identity. To withdraw consent, use Menu, Privacy Settings, or send a one-line email.
The notice shown when you arrive is available in English, Hindi, Kannada and Malayalam. On request we will give you this policy in any other language listed in the Eighth Schedule to the Constitution.
We will acknowledge your request within seven days and aim to answer within thirty days. In every case we will respond within the time the Rules allow, which is not more than ninety days.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India. The Act asks that you first use our grievance redressal (section 13(3)).
Children
This site is meant for adults. We do not knowingly process the personal data of anyone under eighteen without the verifiable consent of a parent or lawful guardian (section 9), and we do not track or monitor children or direct advertising at them. If you are under eighteen, please ask a parent or guardian to contact us for you.
Security and confidentiality
We take reasonable security safeguards to prevent personal data breaches (section 8(5)), including limiting access to those who need it. If a breach affecting your personal data occurs, we will inform you and the Data Protection Board of India as the Act and the Rules require (section 8(6)).
If you become our client, what you tell us is also protected by our professional duty of confidentiality and by the law of privilege, and our terms of engagement apply alongside this notice. Writing to us through this site does not by itself create a lawyer and client relationship.
Changes, and how to reach us
We may update this notice. The date at the top shows when it last changed, and if a change affects how we use your personal data we will say so clearly on this site before it takes effect.

This website does not set cookies of its own, and it does not track you. This page explains what your browser does store, and which outside service it may contact, so that you can decide for yourself.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website asks your browser to keep. They are used to remember a sign-in, to count visitors, or to show advertising. Browsers offer similar storage, such as local storage, which works in much the same way. This page speaks of all of these together as “cookies”.
Our position
This site sets no analytics, advertising, social media or tracking cookies. It has no accounts and no sign-in, so it has no need of any. We do not build a profile of you, and we do not follow you from this site to others.
What is kept in your browser
- tl-consent: local storage. Records your privacy choice: the version of the notice, that you accepted the disclaimer, whether you allowed the optional typefaces, the date, and your chosen language. It holds no personal data, has no identifier and is never sent to us. It is kept for up to twelve months, after which we ask again, or until you clear your browser’s site data. It is strictly necessary to remember your choice.
That is the whole list.
Outside services
The animation and scrolling code is built into this page, so no script is fetched from anywhere else. There is one optional outside service.
- Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com): the typefaces you are reading. Loaded only if you allow it on the privacy screen. When it loads, your browser sends Google your IP address, browser details and the address of this page, and Google handles that under its own privacy policy. We have not set it up to place cookies, and we receive none of the data Google sees.
If you do not allow it, the page uses your device’s own serif fonts and looks a little different, but works the same.
Links that open other apps
Email and telephone links on this site open your own mail or phone app. What you send from there reaches us as described in the Privacy Policy.
The directions links on the office cards open Google Maps, which Google runs under its own privacy policy. Nothing is sent to Google unless you follow one of them.
Your choices
You can change or withdraw your choice at any time from Menu, Privacy Settings; turning the typefaces off takes effect at once. You can also see, block or delete cookies and site data in your browser’s settings; the privacy screen will then appear again on your next visit.
If this changes
If we ever add anything that sets cookies beyond the one entry above, such as visitor statistics, we will first ask for your consent through a clear notice on this site, describe each cookie, its purpose and how long it lasts, and update this page. You will be able to withdraw that consent as easily as you gave it. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data and your rights over it.
